Chemtex’s corporate social responsibility is interlinked with promoting sustainable agriculture in Ethiopia and emphasizing the importance of improving the smallholder farmers’ profitability and yield while also leading to food security within the farming community. The focus on sustainable agricultural practices also improves the farmers’ sustainable farming perception thus having economic, social and environmental benefits.
As a company, we organize field days across different agricultural regions to create more awareness of the current agricultural and environmental issues that farmers are facing and provide solutions. We help organize SSP (Spray Service Providers) program which is a training program for the safe use and proper handling of sprayers. We also provide free pamphlets and instructional posters for the safe use and handling of chemicals written in the applicable language of the region.
